travel plan accreditation

Once your travel plan is up and running, you can look into having it accredited by the Smarter Choices team. Accreditation demonstrates that your travel plan meets specific criteria and is available in three award levels:

Bronze

To achieve this level of accreditation you must be able to demonstrate that you have the support of company management, have produced a travel plan document and that your staff have been made aware or your proposals. You must ensure that all current travelling patterns have been monitored and assessed.

Silver

To progress to silver level you must have implemented projects and proposals as detailed in your travel plan to encourage modal shift. This level of accreditation involves liaising with local transport providers and your local authority travel plan co-ordinator.

Gold

To achieve this level of accreditation you must be able to demonstrate a change in travelling patterns and have a proven long-term commitment to travel planning (minimum 3 years).

Accreditation can be an excellent opportunity to demonstrate that your company is committed to sustainability and staff-wellbeing. Gaining this recognised award can attract significant press interest and will help underpin your company’s reputation among customers and potential employees.
