Transport Direct is a door-to-door national journey planning tool, which can tell you how to get from A to B, and also offers live travel news and information on traffic levels in your area. It works on postcodes and streets, so can be easier to use online than Traveline.

Traveline is an excellent source of travel information, offering impartial advice about your journey across Tyne & Wear and the North East.

Using their website, you can plan your journey, or alternatively you can call them on 0871 200 22 33, 7.00am - 9.00pm every day of the week.

If you want to see more specific information about a particular service, Nexus maintain a list of timetables for bus, Metro, and Ferry.

You can also get railway journey information, including real-time information about any delays to services, from National Rail's website or by calling 08457 484950.
