A school travel plan is a strategy for getting children to use active and healthy ways to get to school. At the same time it can address the congestion and parking problems that often build up around school gates.

As well as attracting a grant of between £5,000 and £12,000 and helping schools meet their ‘healthy schools’ and ‘sustainable schools’ targets, travel plans can even improve educational attainment, as it’s often found that pupils are more alert and attentive if they’ve had exercise on their way to school.
