Rt Hon Alan Milburn supports transport scheme to help people get to work

The Rt Hon Alan Milburn, Chair of the Social Mobility & Child Poverty Commission, has put his support behind a transport initiative aimed at helping people in South East Northumberland who are struggling to get to work.

Sunderland pupil honoured at national awards ceremony

A pupil from Fulwell Junior School in Sunderland has been honoured at a London awards ceremony for designing a collectible badge which will be used to encourage school children to walk to school instead of being driven in the car.

Staff working on Parsons, Armstrong and Crowther Industrial Estates in Washington were treated to a free cuppa by the Go Smarter to Work team recently, in a bid to find out more about how people travel to and from work.
